BOSTON — Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara is not going to go back to the match from the New York Islanders at TD Garden on Thursday.
Chara went off to get a line change with about 8:13 staying in the first period and didn’t return for the second period.
Prior into a television timeout, Chara had a big hit on Islanders forward John Tavares. When the match restarted, Chara remained on the ice and played a drawn-out shift in the Bruins ending.
